Edgar Rice Burroughs Fan reminds us that:
On this day in 1917, ERB began work on ‘The Lost U-Boat,’ a story which became THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT. He completed it in about five weeks, and it was the first installment of his intended Caspak trilogy.
In 1918, ‘Blue Book Magazine’ editor Ray Long was responsible for renaming Burroughs’ novella THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT.

As Variety reports, the coming months will see some major content coming to kid’s TV channels, and among them an Edgar Rice Burroughs classic! As they Explain:
Netflix: Edgar Rice Burroughs’ “Tarzan and Jane” is a modern-day animated remake that reimagines the pair as crime-solving teens in London (2016).

Interesting:
Whoa. Elsa, Anna and Tarzan are siblings.
Well, kind of, at least.
Director Chris Buck, who headed both “Tarzan” and “Frozen,” told MTV News that in his world, Tarzan is Elsa and Anna’s brother.

Interesting speculation from Business Insider:
A trio of scientists says they’ve identified the best place to look for evidence of ancient life on Mars — one of the youngest lake-bearing basins ever discovered.
Though Mars has no liquid water today, the Red Planet was submerged under vast oceans billions of years ago. And where there’s water, there’s the potential for life.

Could it be… John Carter?
The truth is out there … maybe. A mysterious woman-like shape in a picture taken by NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover is creating buzz on social media.
In a post entitled “Alien Woman on Mars Watching Rover From Hill” the UFO Sightings Daily website said that the shape “looks like a woman partly cloaked.”

Great piece in John Carter files:
Alexander Skarsgard has let go the first volley in terms of serious discussion about what to expect from David Yates’s Tarzan next July. It comes in an interview with Mike Ryan. Now, some of this has to be discounted beause actors always say the character was intriguing, the director was fantastic, and so on. Okay — we get that. But even allowing for that, Skarsgard’s comments are interesting and, to my taste at least, encouraging:

im Sullos, a retired accountant who serves as president of ERB, said 2016 should be a good year for the Burroughs stable of characters. Next summer, Warner Bros. Entertainment will release a new “Tarzan” movie with Alexander Skarsgard and Samuel L. Jackson. An animated series “Tarzan and Jane” will begin streaming on Netflix in fall of 2016, and there are plans for reprinting comic strips of Tarzan and launching a John Carter role-playing game.
