Jungle Girl to take on new artist, Nik Poliwko, and farewell to Will and Jo Meugniot

Change is coming to the Jungle!

(May 8, 2015 – Tarzana, CA) As of episode #31 our Jungle Girl feature will be drawn by War Chief’s own Nik Poliwko. Our current art team of Will and Jo Meugniot have decided to actively pursue their retirement and realized having a regular weekly assignment was interfering with their travel plans. Per Will, “Drawing Jungle Girl for the great people at ERB was a dream come true, but I’ve been concerned that I couldn’t continue delivering the strip at its current quality and find time for the outside pursuits I’ve wanted to take up in retirement. It’s been a relief that Nik, who is one of my favorite Burroughs artists, is willing to pick up the reins. As a fan of Martin’s writing and Nik’s visual storytelling, I look forward to seeing what comes next in the lives of Gordon and Fou-Tan, and trust you’ll all join me in my enjoyment of the continuing adventures of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Jungle Girl.”

They will be missed! We are excited to continue this wonderful story with Martin Powell, writing, and Nik Poliwko as our artist. Nik is the current artist for The War Chief and also the Editor or our special FB page for ERB web comics www.facebook.com/groups/ERB.Online.Strips/ jungle girl web comic

‘War Of The World’ Original Drawings To be Sold at an Auction

War of the Worlds Drawing

An interesting speculation from HuffingtonPost about the expected high value of the ‘War of The World’ drawings dating back to the start of the century:

The originals of the illustrations, created by Brazilian artist Henrique Alvim Corrêa, are to be auctioned off in Beverly Hills, Calif. on May 14. But if you’re interested in bidding, get set for some sticker shock; the entire collection, which includes 31 pencil and ink drawings plus a vintage poster and a postcard from Wells to Corrêa, is expected to fetch a staggering $500,000, according to a spokesman for the auction house.

Liquid Water on Mars found right below the rover?

Now this is interesting! We know about some frozen water on the red giant, but turns out there there might be water in liquid form as well! NASA’s Curiosity rover has uncovered new evidence:

mars with water
At long last, researchers on the Curiosity Mars rover’s science team believe they have evidence that there is liquid water on the Red Planet, lurking just beneath the surface of our neighbor’s rouge surface. The water in the Martian soil seems to gather intermittently and is a very salty brine, making it perhaps suitable for everyone’s favorite retro pet — sea monkeys! Very, very hearty sea monkeys that could withstand the superharsh environment on the fourth planet, that is.
