Atomic Oxygen on Mars!

A specially-equipped 747 has detected atomic oxygen in Mars’ upper atmosphere, NASA reported, marking the first time that the space agency has made that observation in four decades.

The California-based NASA plane that made the measurements is called the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, or SOFIA. NASA reports that using an instrument on board the plane, they found the atomic oxygen in the planet’s mesosphere, which is its upper atmosphere— but only saw about half of what they thought they would.

Mars is getting a bit crowded!

Mysterious cloudlike plumes bursting from MarsDailyMail reports on (yet another) strange Dome found on Mars:

There’s a set of UFO hunters who are convinced that Nasa is covering up the remains of an ancient civilisation on Mars.

In the hope of backing up their bizarre theory, they’ve spotted what they believe to be everything from military bunkers to coffins on the red planet.

Their latest ‘sighting’ of a rock by the Opportunity rover described as a ‘man-made dome’ that they say was left behind by an alien race sometime during Mars’ watery past.

Human Shadow on Mars?

Huffington Post posted another chilling story depicting an odd shadow next to a Nasa rover, oddly resembling a helmet-less human! Crisp hair on the top, air tanks on the back, the strange figure appears to be “messing with the rover” as the article points out. Could the alien be trying to intercept our rover? Or perhaps this proves the photo was not taken on Mars at all? Or maybe just a testament to our cognitive bias to interpret shapes as human silhouettes and faces. You be the judge!
